Rice is important for alot of differnt reasons. For starters it is the main food sorce for people all over the world, becasue it is cheap and easy to grow. If all of the rice on the planet were to disapear right now then thousands if not millons of people would starve in afica and aisa since it is the most prominet food in those areas. Rice is also important because it has lots of minrals and vietimans and can be a part of a balence diet.
